Who is responsible for making repairs?
Cal Water is responsible for repairs within the distribution system. Property owners are responsible for repairs to plumbing on their side of the water meter.
Will my bill go up when I get a meter?
That depends on your water usage. A residential customer who uses the system-wide average will see very little difference on the bill; it may be slightly lower in the winter and slightly higher in the summer. You will see a bigger difference if your water usage is above average.
Where can I find service area maps?
Service area maps are located in the Rates and Tariffs section. If you select your district, service area maps will be shown along with other documents related to the district.
Why do you need my email address and phone number?
Your email address is needed for billing and service-related correspondence. We will only use your phone number in case of emergency or if there is a significant problem with your account.
Why can’t I make a payment arrangement/extension?
You cannot make a payment arrangement or extension if:
- Your account does not have a balance due.
- You do not meet the qualifications for an arrangement or extension. (Contact your local Customer Center for more information.)
