1,000 feet of New Water Main Installed in Chico

Cal Water completed the final tie-in on an infrastructure improvement project in our Chico District on Wednesday. The project, which began Dec. 12, 2022, saw the installation of about 1,000 feet of new 8- and 6-inch water main on East 3rd Street, between Wall and Orient streets, and on Flume Street, between East 3rd and East 4th streets. The new water main will improve water supply reliability and fire protection in the area.

While the final tie-in was taking place, Cal Water was able to keep businesses running at 315 Wall St. by providing our Water on Wheels trailer. A hair and nail salon and several offices utilized the trailer, which contains 600 gallons of safe, clean water.
