Serving Bodfish, Kernville, Lakeland, Mountain Shadows, Onyx, Squirrel Valley, South Lake, and Wofford Heights
Cal Water's Kern River Valley District was formed in 2000 with the purchase of the Kern River Valley Water Company, which began serving the area in 1967. We supply water to more than 5,200 customers throughout the Valley and proactively maintain and upgrade our facilities to ensure a reliable, high-quality water supply.
Kernville
Groundwater is treated by our plant in Wofford Heights to remove iron and manganese, and surface water is treated by our highly advanced membrane filtration system in Kernville.
Lakeland
Lakeland is served by a local supply pumped from rock fissures beneath the ground and treated through reverse-osmosis filtration to remove arsenic, fluoride, nitrates, and uranium.
Lower Bodfish
Water in Lower Bodfish and Juniper Hills has four major contaminants – arsenic, boron, iron, and manganese – and we have installed treatment to address all of them.
Onyx
Our Onyx system customers are served by a local supply pumped from two wells in rock fissures beneath the ground.
South Lake
Wells pump the local water supply from rock fissures beneath he ground to serve our South Lake system customers.
Upper Bodfish
Upper Bodfish is served by local well and has treatment systems to remove antimony, selenium, arsenic, fluoride, iron, uranium, and manganese,
