Infrastructure Upgrade Begins in Woodside

Cal Water has begun a water infrastructure upgrade to help enhance water supply reliability and fire protection in Woodside. Earlier this month, Cal Water crews began installing 2,818 feet of new water main, five new fire hydrants, and 20 new service connections northeast of the city, to improve water supply and system reliability to nearby homes, institutions, businesses, and emergency services.

“It’s all about improving water reliability for our customers’ daily needs and supporting our local first responders as they work to protect our community,” said Dawn Smithson, Bear Gulch District Manager. “This project is a testament to our crews’ ongoing work and dedication to upgrade the infrastructure of the water system in Woodside.”

Crews are working southeast of Woodside Hills, on High Road and Todo El Mundo, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Customers will be notified of any temporary traffic disruptions that may occur during the work period.

This is just one of Cal Water’s efforts to continually modernize and upgrade its water system so that it continues meeting federal and state regulations for customers and provides them safe, clean, reliable water, both now and in the future.
