Palos Verdes Peninsula: Emergency conservation canceled

Update: June 11th, 2026, 9:22AM

Repairs to the water main have been completed, and the emergency conservation request issued yesterday, June 10, is now canceled. Thank you for your cooperation reducing water use as we worked to repair the main.

This event actually showed the recent Palos Verdes Peninsula Water Reliability Project in action. Because of the new seven-mile pipeline and pump station completed a few years ago to support the Peninsula, water remained in service for the vast majority of customers during this event. Without the new pipeline and pump station, most of the nearly 14,000 customers asked to conserve water may have experienced a water outage yesterday.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this event.

Previous Update: June 10th, 2026, 4:00PM

Repairs to the water main leak are progressing, and we ask that customers continue to conserve water until further notice. Please use only as much water as absolutely needed for health and safety indoors, and refrain from outdoor irrigation and running clothes washers and dishwashers during this time. We will notify you when the repair has been completed and you can resume normal water use. We appreciate your cooperation during this time.

Please review the latest update for the most current information.

Crews are still working to repair a water main leak from yesterday, and customers in your area are also utilizing water from our storage tank nearby. Due to higher morning water usage, we must ask customers west of Crenshaw Boulevard and south of Palos Verdes Drive North to conserve as much water as possible this morning while the repair is still underway. Please shut off all irrigation, avoid doing laundry, and only use as much water as absolutely necessary for health and safety indoors until the repair has been completed, to help prevent a water service interruption. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your cooperation. We will notify you when you may resume normal water use.
