Oroville residents are invited to join Cal Water on Friday, August 21, for a free customer appreciation celebration at the Forebay Aquatic Center as the company commemorates its centennial.
The event, from 3 to 6 p.m., will offer complimentary watercraft rentals, giveaways, anniversary treats, and family-friendly fun on the water. The celebration will take place at the Forebay Aquatic Center, 930 Garden Drive.
Founded in 1926 by three World War I veterans, Cal Water has grown from serving four California communities to serving more than 20 districts in the state, from Chico in the north down to the South Bay of Los Angeles. In Oroville, where Cal Water has provided high-quality water utility services since 1927, the company is celebrating a century of service by thanking customers and highlighting the local team’s continued commitment to delivering safe, clean, reliable water.
“For nearly 100 years in Oroville, our team has worked every day to provide water customers can count on,” said Loni Lind, Cal Water’s Oroville Local Manager. “This celebration is our way of thanking customers for being part of our story and reaffirming our commitment to investing in the water system that supports everyday life, local businesses, and fire protection.”
Cal Water customers are invited to stop by the Cal Water welcome table to check in, pick up a wristband for complimentary watercraft rentals, and learn more about water conservation programs, customer assistance resources, and other services available to customers. Giveaways and special anniversary treats will be available while supplies last. Customers are encouraged to RSVP for the event at: 100years.calwatergroup.com/events/oroville-district.
Watercraft rentals are complimentary for Cal Water customers and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants renting equipment will be required to complete a waiver onsite through the Forebay Aquatic Center; participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver, and proof of age may be required. Parking fees charged by California State Parks are not included.
Cal Water’s Oroville District serves about 11,100 people through approximately 3,560 service connections. The local system includes 52 miles of pipeline, two storage tanks, six booster pumps, and four wells that supplement surface water from the west branch of the Feather River, which is processed at Cal Water’s treatment plant.
