New Vanderlip Drive Water Main Installed, Testing Underway
Installation of the new, above-ground water main along Vanderlip Drive has been completed, and crews conducted pressure testing and water quality sampling last week. When water quality and pressure testing results are returned and favorable, crews will tie the new main into the system.
Preparation Underway for PBCA-Wide Water Main Replacement
In preparation for construction of the community-wide Portuguese Bend Community Association water main replacement project, Cal Water crews have also begun grading areas of land and clearing brush where the water main alignment will be. Crews then plan to begin installation of 9,500 feet of above-ground water main throughout the neighborhood, with portions underground where required to cross driveways or roadways.
Additional Landslide-Area Main Replacement Projects in Progress
While the design of the larger water main replacement project in Seaview is being finalized, crews plan to begin installation of new, above-ground water main on certain portions of Exultant Drive and Admirable Drive sooner, when materials arrive around early to mid-July.
Elsewhere, crews are preparing for construction of the new water main on Palos Verdes Drive South, between Seaview and Portuguese Bend Beach Club, and finalizing the design for the new water main along the Vanderlip Trail. Design is also still underway for a water main replacement between Yacht Harbor Drive and PV Drive South in the Portuguese Bend Beach Club.
