Anchors Installed to Hold Above-Ground Water Main on Vanderlip Trail, Main Installation Underway

All four of the large concrete anchors that will support the new, above-ground water main being installed along the Vanderlip Trail have been completed. These anchors extend about four to five feet underground and are designed to hold the water main and allow it to shift with land movement. Crews have also completed installation of the pressure-reducing valves that will be needed for the new main along with 900 feet of the above-ground water main, as of September 23, 2024.
We expect to complete construction of the new main in early October, after which crews will conduct pressure and water quality testing before putting it into service.

Crews More Than Halfway Done with PBCA Water Main Replacement

Over the past month, crews have continued installing above-ground water main in the Portuguese Bend Community Association. As of September 23, about 5,700 feet of main has been installed, along with all six pressure-reducing valves.
The newly installed main along Figtree Road and Narcissa Drive (between Figtree and the lower Narcissa bend) was pressure-tested and sampled for water quality testing last week; these sections will be tied into the water system upon receiving satisfactory test results. Earlier this month, crews completed installation of the above-ground main along Ginger Root Lane and Narcissa Drive (west of Ginger Root), and along Thyme Place and upper Cinnamon Lane (between Ginger Root to just past Thyme); both sections have since been connected to the system.

Above-Ground Main Installations Near Completion in Seaview

Crews also completed installing the additional above-ground main along Admirable Drive last week; the new main will be connected to the water system after satisfactory pressure and water quality test results are received. Along Exultant Drive, favorable test results were received for the new above-ground main earlier in September, and that new main is now in service.

Crews Preparing for Beach Club Main Installation

Crews have ordered material for the above-ground main installation at Spindrift in the Portuguese Bend Beach Club. We expect to begin construction as soon as next week.
