Brush Clearance Completed for Water Main Project Along Burma Trail
Crews are preparing the land around Burma Trail for this upcoming main replacement project. We have already received materials and completed vegetation clearance for the main installation, which will include replacing the remaining underground main along Burma Trail with about 3,000 feet of above-ground main. After the road has been restored, we will be able to start construction, which we expect to be in June.
Cal Water Planning Two New Main Replacement Projects in Portuguese Bend Community Association
Recent land movement in the Portuguese Bend Communication Association has begun to impact some of our remaining underground water mains in the Sweetbay Road area and the lower-Vanderlip / upper-Narcissa area. Crews plan to replace the main in these areas with above-ground water main. Materials for both projects have been received.
Crews began clearing vegetation this week in the lower-Vanderlip Drive and upper-Narcissa Drive area. After brush clearance has been completed, we intend to install above-ground main from the end of our current above-ground infrastructure on Vanderlip to the intersection of Vanderlip and Narcissa, then go east toward the end of Narcissa Drive. A small section of main on the eastern-most portion of Sweetbay Road will also be installed above-ground as part of this project. We hope to begin installation of the new water main the week of May 19.
For the Sweetbay Road main installation project, crews will be installing above-ground main on part of the western half of Sweetbay. Scheduling for this project is pending.
