SAN JOSE, Calif. — As residents across the state celebrate Thanksgiving and prepare for the upcoming holidays, California Water Service (Cal Water), the largest subsidiary of California Water Service Group (NYSE: CWT), is partnering with charitable organizations in each of its service areas to help feed thousands of needy families. Through its Operation Gobble program, Cal Water is donating a total of $166,000 to local food banks, rescue missions, community service facilities, and children’s centers in its 21 service areas.
“Our commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the communities we serve extends beyond the holidays, but Operation Gobble helps alleviate stress this time of year for families having trouble making ends meet,” said President & Chief Executive Officer Martin A. Kropelnicki. “By partnering with local organizations, we can better reach those needing assistance, and together, make a bigger impact in our communities.”
According to Kropelnicki, Operation Gobble donations come from the utility’s philanthropic giving program, not from water rates.
California Water Service serves about 2 million people through 482,400 service connections in California. The utility has provided water service in the state since 1926. Additional information may be obtained online at www.calwater.com.
