Mountain View Water Infrastructure Project Complete

Mountain View Water Infrastructure Improvement ProjectAs part of its ongoing commitment to ensure water system infrastructure remains safe and reliable in its Los Altos District, Cal Water has completed an infrastructure upgrade in northern Mountain View. The upgrade ensures customers and firefighters continue to have the water they need for their everyday and emergency needs.

The project, which began in October 2020, includes the installation of approximately 2,600 feet of 8-inch and 6-inch PVC pipe and the replacement of 2,550 feet of aging concrete pipe on Martens Ave. and Carmelita Drive. Cal Water also replaced six fire hydrants and installed 62 new services. Crews are currently repaving the road surface and installing landscaping around the area.

“Our crews are committed to ensuring that a reliable supply of safe, high-quality water remains accessible to Mountain View residents for their drinking, cooking, handwashing, and other household needs, both now and for years to come,” said District Manager Dawn Smithson. “We are here to help families, businesses, and medicals centers combat the pandemic by delivering water around the clock.”
