Water Infrastructure Upgrades for Woodside Customers

Building on its commitment to ensure critical water infrastructure remains safe and reliable, Cal Water has begun an infrastructure upgrade in the Woodside Hills neighborhood in the Town of Woodside. This investment in infrastructure will ensure local customers and firefighters continue to have the water they need for their everyday and emergency needs.

The twelve-week project includes the installation of 5,154 feet of new 6-inch and 8-inch PVC water main and 35 new individual customer service connections. Crews will also install 10 new fire hydrants to improve access for firefighters. Installation will take place on Woodside Drive, from Wildwood Way to Fernside Street.

“At Cal Water, we are committed to providing Woodside residents and businesses a reliable supply of safe, high-quality water for their drinking, cooking, handwashing, and other needs, now and for generations to come. This infrastructure improvement project will also ensure first responders have the water they need to protect the community in an emergency,” said District Manager Dawn Smithson. “Our promise to deliver quality, service, and value to our customers begins with important infrastructure upgrades such as this.”

The work is being performed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Crews are working hard to minimize any related traffic delays. Following installation, crews will flush the water lines and test water quality samples before connecting individual customer service connections to the new water main. Residents will be notified in advance of any planned shutdowns, which are typically scheduled during work hours. All streets, sod, and landscaping impacted by the construction will be restored to as close to the previous condition as possible.
