Water Storage Tank Upgrade Begins on West Lincoln Avenue in Montebello

NewsCal Water began a water infrastructure upgrade in Montebello that will strengthen water system reliability and infrastructure resiliency for both customers’ everyday needs and firefighters’ emergency needs today.

The project, which is expected to be completed in eight weeks, includes a roof improvement and exterior coating on the one million-gallon water storage tank at Cal Water’s station at 2630 W. Lincoln Ave.

“This important infrastructure upgrade will extend the life of the tank, enabling us to continue delivering a reliable supply of safe, high-quality drinking water to Montebello residents, businesses, and first responders, both now and for years to come,” said District Manager James Crawford. “And, by extending the life of the storage tank, we are able to keep costs lower than if we needed to construct a new tank, which furthers our promise to deliver quality, service, and value to our customers.”

Work will take place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Crews will make every effort to minimize noise and any temporary inconvenience to area residents during the work. Additionally, there will be periods with no active construction occurring, such as when crews test water quality samples to ensure that the water meets all federal and state standards.
