Cal Water has completed construction of a new water storage tank in its Salinas District that will improve water system reliability and increase water reserves for firefighters and other emergencies.
The new 150,000-gallon tank is made of bolted steel, a material chosen for longevity and its ability to withstand seismic activity. The tank is on Pine Canyon Road near Mesa Road in Salinas and sits near two sister tanks, which provide an additional 150,000 gallons of water to the area.
“By adding this tank to our water system, we have significantly increased our storage capabilities in the Salinas area,” said District Manager Brenda Granillo. “Our commitment to providing our community with the water they need when they need it is unwavering, and this important water infrastructure improvement project is just one part of our promise to provide quality, service, and value to our customers.”
