Water Infrastructure Upgrade to Begin in Redondo Beach

NewsCal Water will begin a water infrastructure improvement project this month in Redondo Beach, part of the utility’s Rancho Dominguez District, that will improve water supply reliability and fire protection in the area.

Beginning April 23, crews will install about 3,240 feet of new 6-inch water main along Fisk Lane, Alvord Lane, and Amour Lane, from Inglewood Avenue to North Pruitt Drive. Construction will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and last approximately 4 weeks.

“This important infrastructure upgrade will provide a stronger water system for our Inglewood community,” said District Manager Dan Armendariz. “It is part of our commitment to providing our customers and firefighters safe and reliable water service for both everyday and emergency needs.”

At the conclusion of the project, the water system will be flushed and water quality samples taken before the water main is put into service. Additionally, all impacted streets, sod, and landscaping will be returned to as close to pre-construction condition as possible.
