California Water Service’s (Cal Water) East Los Angeles District reaffirmed its commitment to improving the communities it serves in 2017 by donating $41,500 to local charitable organizations and community groups.
This year, the East Los Angeles District helped non-profits provide services to community members in need by donating to the American Red Cross, Help the Children, Centro Maravilla Service Center, Eastmont Community Center, Alma Family Services, Door of Hope, East Los Angeles Women’s Center, and other local organizations. The District also partnered with the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and donated more than 2,000 toys to families in need. The funds were donated as part of the utility’s philanthropic giving program and not paid for by ratepayers.
"We are glad to partner with these important organizations, which provide such essential services to our community," said Interim District Manager Jim Crawford. "California Water Service values being able to give back to help improve the quality of life in the communities we serve."
