Boil Water Advisory Canceled for Impacted Kernville System Customers

Cal Water and the State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water have canceled the precautionary boil water advisory for all customers residing on Sirretta Street (from Rio Vista Drive to Burlando Road), Pine Drive (from Rio Vista Drive to Elm Street), Juniper Drive, Spruce Avenue, Alder Court, Oak Court, Oak Place, and Grandview Avenue after water quality test results confirmed that water quality was not impacted by the main break and loss of water pressure earlier this week.

These customers were originally advised on Tuesday to use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking. Cal Water crews repaired the water main and restored water service the same day, and had to test water samples to ensure that water quality was not negatively impacted.

“Two consecutive rounds of water quality tests have confirmed that it is safe to resume normal water use,” said Local Manager Chris Whitley. “We thank our customers for their patience while we worked to ensure the water met all federal and state standards. Protecting their health and safety is our highest priority.”

Customers who used bottled water during the advisory can submit their receipts for reimbursement by Cal Water. Customers can bring their receipts to the Cal Water Customer Center at 7138 Lake Isabella Boulevard, Lake Isabella, CA 93240, or mail them to the same address to the attention of Chris Whitley. Questions may be directed to the Cal Water Customer Center at (760) 379-5336.
