Infrastructure Upgrade Complete in Bodfish

As part of its commitment to ensuring critical infrastructure remains safe and reliable, Cal Water has completed an important water main replacement project in Bodfish. The water infrastructure upgrade will ensure customers and firefighters continue to have the water they need for their everyday and emergency needs.

The project included the installation of 2,700 feet of new 6-inch PVC water main and 33 new individual service connections. Crews also installed seven fire hydrants to improve access for firefighters. Installation took place on Columbus Avenue, between Elk Drive and North Drive.

“This important infrastructure upgrade will enable us to continue to deliver a reliable supply of safe, clean water to our customers for their drinking, cooking, handwashing, and other household needs, both now and for many years to come,” said Local Manager Jon Yasin. “It will also help first responders protect the community in an emergency.”

Following installation, crews conducted water quality testing before connecting individual customer service lines to the new water main. Crews are in the process of restoring all streets, sod, and landscaping impacted by the construction.
