Water Infrastructure Upgrade in Rolling Hills Estates

As part of Cal Water’s commitment to ensure critical water infrastructure remains safe and reliable for customers, an important water main upgrade is now underway in Rolling Hills Estates. This water system improvement project will ensure local residents and firefighters continue to have the water they need for their everyday and emergency needs, both now and for decades to come.

The project, which is expected to be completed in early 2021, includes the installation of 2,080 feet of new 8-inch ductile iron water main. Installation is taking place along Silver Saddle Lane, Shady Vista Road, and Palos Verdes Lane.

“Our essential workers are committed to providing a reliable supply of safe, high-quality water to Rolling Hills Estates residents and ensuring first responders have the water they need to protect the community in an emergency,” said District Manager Dan Armendariz. “This upgrade is just one part of our promise to deliver quality, service, and value to our customers.”

The work is being performed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., during which time crews are working hard to minimize any related traffic delays. Following installation, crews will conduct water quality testing before connecting individual customer service lines to the new water main. Residents will be notified in advance of any planned shutdowns, which are typically scheduled during work hours. All streets, sod, and landscaping impacted by the construction will be restored to as close to the previous condition as possible.
