Cal Water news release

Livermore Generator Installation Project Completed

NewsCal Water has completed installation of a new emergency generator in southern Livermore, enhancing water system reliability and fire protection to area customers. The infrastructure improvement project will enable the local station on Geneva Street to continue to run in the event of a power outage and ensure customers do not experience a water service interruption if an outage occurs.

“Cal Water is committed to being a good neighbor and responsible water utility by investing prudently in our water infrastructure,” District Manager Frank Vallejo said. “This important upgrade will ensure we are able to provide a reliable supply of high-quality water to our Livermore customers and sufficient resources for firefighters, both for everyday needs and during any emergencies for decades to come.”

The generator installation is the final phase of the station’s rebuild. Other improvements, including a new pump building, booster pumps, electrical panel board, and monitoring equipment, were completed in 2016.
