Cal Water has completed installation of a new SCADA system to help enhance water system reliability for customers in its Willows District. The upgrade improves Cal Water’s ability to monitor different parts of the water system remotely and enables the district to react quicker to any issues in the distribution system.
The new SCADA system, which was installed one month ago, just passed the testing phase and will be used as a model for the utility’s remaining 20 districts. The previous SCADA system in the Willow’s District was more than 25 years old and required more costly maintenance.
“We are beyond satisfied with the finished product, as it has brought increased functionality and reliability, and will help us provide even better quality, service, and value to our Willows customers,” said Local Manager Evan Markey.
