Cal Water Completes Pump Station Upgrade

NewsCal Water’s Bayshore District has completed a major infrastructure improvement project in San Carlos that improves water supply reliability and water pressure for local customers. The pump station renovation included installation of three new pumps and replacement of 500 feet of aging water main, which enables the station to produce 2,800 gallons of water per minute, or more than 4 million gallons per day. A former aging tank was also removed.

On Wednesday, February 21, Cal Water opened the doors of the pump station to allow its customers to get a first-hand view of the upgraded station. Approximately 40 residents attended the open house and were able to learn more about the upgrades.

“We sincerely appreciate our neighbors being great community partners and patient as we have made this critical infrastructure upgrade, which will greatly improve water system reliability in San Carlos,” said District Manager Ross Moilan. “We also enjoyed having the opportunity to open up the doors of our new facility and show customers what is involved in providing them with high-quality water around the clock.”
