Cal Water completed an infrastructure improvement project in central Bakersfield that included the replacement of 1,980 feet of water main. The new main improves the flow of water, protects against leaks, enhances fire protection, and increases the overall water supply reliability for residents living on Ming Avenue, Castro Lane, and Baldwin Road.
Additionally, crews installed a new fire hydrant and new service lines for residents along Ming Avenue, Castro Lane, and Baldwin Road. According to District Manager Mike Mares, crews worked overnight at times to avoid impacting the heavy traffic in the area.
“Our team worked diligently to complete this important water system improvement project as quickly as possible with as little impact to residents and motorists as possible,” Mares said. “We are committed to providing our customers and communities with reliable, high-quality water service, and this project is part of a larger, proactive plan to replace aging and at-risk water mains in our district.”
