With displaced residents still in Chico due to the Oroville spillway mandatory evacuation order, Cal Water will be providing Valentine’s candy and water to evacuees at the Chico Fairgrounds this morning.
Residents who have been at the fairgrounds can look for the Cal Water Emergency Response Trailer Unit by 10 a.m. Team members will be passing out water for families and candy for the children.
“We can only imagine what a stressful time this is for residents,” said Marty Kropelnicki, Cal Water President and CEO. “So to be displaced on Valentine’s Day, we wanted to be here with them, support the members of our community, and hopefully make it a little bit brighter, too.”
The contribution does not come from ratepayer funds, but rather from Cal Water’s philanthropic giving program.
