Oroville Evacuees Invited to Movie Night at Cinemark

With the mandatory evacuation due to the Oroville spillway damage heavy on Oroville residents’ minds, Cal Water has partnered with Cinemark 14 in Chico to help alleviate their stress for one evening. Cal Water has reserved seats at the theater for Oroville evacuees to attend tonight’s showing of the Lego Batman Movie or La La Land at no cost to them.

Tonight, February 13, 2017, Oroville residents displaced to Chico can watch the 7:15 p.m. showing of the Lego Batman Movie or the 7:00 p.m. showing of La La Land at Cinemark 14, located at 801 East Ave. #2 in Chico. Oroville residents should inform the ticket office that they are evacuees from Oroville to get complimentary tickets. Space is limited to the first 200 people for each show.

“We understand what a trying time this can be for residents who have evacuated from Oroville, and we want to do whatever we can to help make the best of a stressful situation,” said Toni Ruggle, Oroville District Manager. “We thank Cinemark for providing these discounted tickets, and that we could offer this for displaced residents.”

“We are a part of our community, and we are committed to our community members,” Ruggle added. “In times like this, our team members from across the state come together to ensure not only that our water system remains operational, but also to support our residents. It’s part of our promise to provide quality, service, and value.”
