Watering Restrictions

In accordance with Cal Water’s Water Shortage Contingency Plan (Schedule 14.1, the “Plan”), Cal Water will enforce the outdoor irrigation schedule for each district below. The Plan also implements water waste penalties for customers when these water-use restrictions are found to be violated. Exemptions from these watering restrictions include:

  • Hand-watering,
  • Drip irrigation, and
  • Microspray irrigation on lawns, landscaping, and trees.

Violation of these water-use restrictions may be subject to enforcement measures, including a fine of up to $100 for each day the violation occurs, installation of flow restrictors, or discontinuance of water service. Waste of water in Cal Water service areas can be reported using the Report Leaks and Waste form. Additionally, we offer a range of residential and commercial programs available to help our customers reduce their water use, both indoors and with their landscaping.
