Change in taste and odor in Los Altos District

Some Cal Water Los Altos District customers may temporarily experience a different taste or odor to their water, due to seasonal changes in our wholesale water supplier’s surface water source. While unpleasant, any taste and odor related to this are aesthetic issues only; we rigorously monitor water quality, and your water continues to meet all federal and state standards set to protect public health. On our end, we are increasing monitoring in our system and will notify you of any expected changes.

In the meantime, if you experience any taste or odor to your water, please contact our Customer Center at (650) 917-0152 so that we may track where it is occurring within our system. You can also refrigerate an open pitcher of water, which will improve the taste and odor of the water.
