Bayshore District: Temporary taste or odor possible due to change in supply source
Some Cal Water customers in our Bayshore District may temporarily experience a different taste or odor to their water, as our wholesale water provider, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC), changes its source of supply to conduct routine maintenance. While unpleasant, this taste or odor would be an aesthetic issue only; we rigorously monitor water quality, and your water continues to meet all federal and state standards set to protect public health. In the meantime, you can refrigerate an open pitcher of water, which will improve the taste and odor of the water.
If it does not clear or you have any concerns, please contact our Customer Center at (650) 558-7800. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience during this time. We expect the SFPUC to complete its maintenance activities by March 13.
