Temporary taste and odor issues for some Stockton customers

Cal Water customers in Stockton may temporarily experience a different taste or odor to their water due to a seasonal algae bloom in the raw water supply of our wholesale surface water provider, Stockton East Water District (SEWD). We and SEWD are aware of these aesthetic issues, and SEWD is making changes to its treatment process to resolve them. We are also changing our source of supply to utilize groundwater wells while SEWD works to resolve the taste and odor. Please note that taste and odor issues do not cause color in water; if you experience any additional issues, please let us know right away so that we may investigate.

In the meantime, you can refrigerate an open pitcher of water, which will improve the taste and odor of the water.
