What is the scope of the project?

Cal Water began constructing a 4-million-gallon storage tank in early November 2009 to replace the Harris Reservoir, which was placed in service prior to Cal Water taking ownership of the water system in 1983. The new tank, in conjunction with previously completed pump upgrades, will increase water pressure, enhance reliability and improve fire protection.

How long will the project take to complete?

The entire project was completed in August 2011.

How will customers benefit from the project?

The project, in conjunction with previously completed pump upgrades, will increase water pressure, enhance reliability, and improve fire protection. The new tank will hold 4-million gallons and will be mostly underground and surrounded by landscaping.
